Pilibhit Man Faces Charges for Molesting, Threatening Class 9 Student
In a disturbing incident from Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, a 22-year-old man has been formally charged with allegedly molesting a 15-year-old Class 9 student and issuing death threats against her. The case, which has sent shockwaves through the local community, was initiated after the girl's mother filed a detailed police complaint, accusing the man of persistent harassment and coercive behavior.
Details of the Alleged Harassment
According to the complaint, the accused repeatedly targeted the minor in public settings, subjecting her to verbal abuse and physical intimidation. The mother alleged that the man exerted pressure on the girl to live with him, creating an environment of fear and distress. As a result of this ongoing intimidation, the victim was compelled to cease attending her school and coaching classes, severely disrupting her education and daily life.
The situation escalated on Monday evening around 6:30 PM, when the man reportedly accosted the girl as she was returning home from her coaching class. He is accused of making derogatory remarks towards her and physically dragging her by the arm, further exacerbating the trauma she was experiencing.
Legal Action and Police Response
Following the complaint, law enforcement authorities swiftly took action. Satyendra Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Pilibhit Kotwali, confirmed that a formal case has been registered against the accused under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The charges include:
- Section 74: Criminal force applied to a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty.
- Section 351(3): Criminal intimidation involving threats to cause death or grievous hurt.
- Section 352: Intentional insult with the aim to provoke a breach of peace.
