Pimpri Chinchwad Police Seek Expansion with New Stations and Leadership
In response to the escalating population in developing regions, the Pimpri Chinchwad police have formally submitted a comprehensive proposal to the Director General of Police (DGP) office. This initiative aims to establish several new police stations to enhance law enforcement coverage and efficiency across the area.
Details of Proposed New Police Stations
The proposal outlines the creation of five new police stations, each to be carved out from existing ones to better serve the community. The specific allocations are as follows:
- Pirangut Police Station: To be formed from the Bavdhan police station jurisdiction.
- Jambe Police Station: To be separated from the Hinjewadi police station area.
- Pimple Saudagar Police Station: To be established from the Sangvi police station limits.
- Dehugaon Police Station: To be created out of the Dehu Road police station territory.
- Moshi Police Station: To be carved from the Bhosari MIDC police station zone.
Additional Demand for New DCP Post
Alongside the new stations, the police have also requested the creation of a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) position for the newly proposed Zone IV. This move is intended to provide dedicated leadership and oversight for the expanded police infrastructure, ensuring effective management and coordination in the face of growing urban challenges.
The proposal underscores the urgent need for enhanced policing resources as population growth in developing areas places increased demands on public safety services. If approved, these changes are expected to improve response times, crime prevention, and overall security for residents in Pimpri Chinchwad and surrounding regions.
