Nashik: In the early hours of Wednesday, police in Jalgaon's Pachora successfully prevented a theft attempt at an ATM of a nationalised bank, saving over Rs 8.89 lakh that was inside the machine. However, the suspects managed to escape from the scene. Police have formed teams to trace the criminals involved in the attempted theft.

The incident occurred around 3:45 am at an unguarded ATM kiosk along Sarola Road, approximately two km from Pachora city. A local resident witnessed three men cutting open the ATM using a gas cutter and promptly informed the Pachora police station, after which two police personnel rushed to the kiosk.

Jalgaon SP Shrikant Dhivare stated, "When the two constables were about to reach the ATM kiosk, they found that three people were trying to take away the cash tray in an SUV." Upon seeing the police, the suspects abandoned the cash and fled in their vehicle, SP Dhivare added.
