Poonthura police have arrested a 27-year-old man accused of attempting to murder a Muttathara native in retaliation for filing a police complaint against him. The accused has been identified as Vishnu, also known as Makan Vishnu, a resident of Muttathara.

According to police, the incident occurred near Jawahar Mosque in Beemapalli ward around 5:30 PM on Sunday. The accused allegedly intercepted the victim on the road, subjected him to verbal abuse, and then attacked him with a wooden log. Police stated that the attack was carried out with the clear intention of causing serious injuries and killing the victim.
Accused Background
Police investigations revealed that Vishnu is a rowdy history-sheeter with a criminal record. He is an accused in multiple assault cases and is also listed as an RHS (Rowdy History Sheeter) accused under Fort police station limits. The attack was reportedly a direct act of retaliation against the victim for filing a police complaint against him.
