Dr Pradeep Gahlot, from the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), has been elected president of the Maharshi Dayanand University Teachers’ Association (MDUTA). He secured 185 votes, defeating Dr Vanita Roj of the Department of Education, who received 80 votes. The margin of victory stood at 105 votes. Returning Officer-cum-MDUTA administrator Prof Vazir Nehra confirmed that a total of 268 votes were cast in the election, with three votes declared invalid in the presidential contest.

Secretary and Treasurer Results

Dr Mahesh Kumar, from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, was elected secretary with 177 votes, defeating Dr Sapna Sharma of the Department of Forensic Science, who polled 90 votes. His winning margin was 87 votes. Arun Hooda of UIET was elected unopposed as treasurer.

Executive Committee Members Elected Unopposed

Eight faculty members were elected unopposed to the executive committee: Dr Naveen Khatak, Dr Anil Sangwan, Dr Goldy Puri, Dr Divya, Dr Rajesh, Dr Savita Rathi, Dr Sapna and Dr Mahender.

President's Vision

Following his election, Dr Gahlot stated that he would work towards addressing teachers’ concerns, safeguarding their professional interests and strengthening the university’s academic and research ecosystem.
