Prayagraj: Georgetown police on Sunday busted an inter-district auto lifters gang and arrested four of its key operatives, seizing three stolen bikes along with one dismantled bike from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Deepak Kumar (29) of Mauaima, Satya Prakash Pal alias Sonu (26) of Shivkuti, Sheru alias Tulsidas (35) of Kydganj, and Ashish Vanshkar (19) of Muttiganj.
According to police, accused Deepak Kumar and Satya Prakash used to recce for bikes across the city areas and later sold the stolen bikes to Sheru. Then, these bikes were sold to the fourth accused, Ashish Vanshkar, who was involved in dismantling the vehicles and selling them at hefty prices.
Police also said that all four auto lifters were operating in an organized way to live their lavish lifestyle and had previous criminal backgrounds.
Meanwhile, Civil Lines police also arrested three miscreants on charges of hurling two crude bombs near an eatery on Saturday morning. They have been identified as Amarjeet Singh alias Golu Thakur, Manas Yadav alias Tushar Yadav, and Aryan Chaudhary, all residents of Dhoomanganj, Jhunsi, and Dausa, respectively.
Cops also seized two crude bombs and a scooty from their possession. These miscreants allegedly hurled crude bombs near a biryani restaurant located at PD Tondon Marg to prove their supremacy in the area.
