The woman, identified as Pallavi Singh, in her mid-twenties, reportedly took the extreme step around 2 p.m. amid an ongoing dispute with her husband, Mohammad Alam. Sources indicate that Alam had filed a fraud case against her, and the couple had been locked in a prolonged conflict over property and personal belongings, with both sides lodging complaints against each other.

According to eyewitnesses, Singh declared that she would not come down until the case registered against her was withdrawn. She also reportedly went live on social media from the top of the water tank, further escalating the situation and drawing a large crowd of onlookers.
Police Response
Police teams from the Phaphamau police station rushed to the scene and initiated efforts to persuade her to descend safely. Despite continuous persuasion, she remained adamant for over four hours.
