An FIR was lodged with the Sadar police station against the principal of a government middle school on Thursday for allegedly assaulting a 10-year-old girl student. The parents of the Class V student at Rajkiya Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya, Dumbi, alleged that on May 8, principal Ranjan Kumar mercilessly thrashed their child with a stick over some issue on the school premises. The girl sustained multiple injury marks on her hands and legs and had to be taken to the Chatra Sadar Hospital for treatment.
The mother further alleged that the principal had harassed her daughter earlier as well due to personal bias. The officer in-charge of the Sadar police station, Awadhesh Kumar Singh, confirmed that a case has been registered and police would take further action as per law.
