A deadly shooting at a roadside eatery on the old Pune-Mumbai highway has left one young man dead and another injured, exposing a violent culmination of an old rivalry. The incident occurred in front of a dhaba at Mundavare village in Maval taluka around 9:30 PM on Tuesday.

According to the Kamshet police, the shooter has been identified as 65-year-old Ashok Singh, a resident of Pimpri. The confrontation erupted when Prashant Deepak Jadhav (20), accompanied by nine friends, arrived at the dhaba where Singh and his 50-year-old brother were present. The police stated that the Singh brothers, seeing Jadhav and his group approach, believed they were about to be attacked.
In a swift and violent reaction, Ashok Singh allegedly fired two bullets towards the group. One bullet struck 21-year-old Rohit Madan Kurma in the forehead, killing him on the spot. The second bullet grazed the nose of his friend, Prashant Jadhav, resulting in injuries. Deputy Superintendent of Police Gajanan Tompe confirmed that the groups had a history of conflict, noting, "Jadhav and his friends have an old rivalry with the Singh brothers."
