According to the Pimpri Chinchwad police, the accident took place around 4:30 PM while workers were constructing a brick compound wall around an open plot belonging to a private company. The wall gave way unexpectedly, trapping the workers beneath the debris.
The deceased have been identified as Sachin Shankar Rathod (30) and his wife Komal Rathod (25), both residents of Medankarwadi in Chakan. The injured worker, Manohar Chavan (38), also from Chakan, was rushed to a private hospital in Chikhali where he is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.
Police Investigation and Response
Police officials confirmed that Sachin and Komal sustained severe injuries in the collapse and were immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Tragically, both were declared dead upon arrival at the medical facility.
"The wall suddenly collapsed on the workers around 4:30 PM while they were carrying out the compound wall construction," stated an officer from the Pimpri Chinchwad police department. "Sachin and Komal suffered severe injuries and were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead."
