The victims have been identified as Shivaji Shilimkar, aged 69, and his young granddaughter, Tanvi Shilimkar, aged 9. According to officials from the Rajgad police station, the tragedy unfolded around 12 PM when Shilimkar was driving his motorcycle with Tanvi as a pillion rider towards their home in Tambhad village from Nasrapur.
The collision happened near Deulwadi area when a dumper truck, attempting to overtake the motorcycle on the narrow road, struck it from behind with significant force. The impact caused severe injuries to both the grandfather and his granddaughter.
