Pune Police Arrest Two Minors for Salon Shooting

The Warje police have arrested Sahil Raut (21) and Pritam Thombre (20) and detained two minor accomplices for allegedly opening fire at a murder accused inside a salon in Warje on Friday night.

In the shooting, Nehal Shinde (26), a resident of Warje, suffered injuries. A stray bullet also hit a salon customer, Amol Adhav, on his leg.

Senior inspector Mahesh Bolkotgi stated, "Shinde's mother, Usha (44), lodged a complaint that in 2023, Bhumitra Kamble, a Warje resident, was hacked to death. In the FIR related to that case, her son Nehal Shinde, along with a few others, was named as an accused. Subsequently, Shinde was arrested."

"His mother informed us that Shinde was recently released on bail from Yerawada Central Prison," Bolkotgi added.

"On Friday evening, Shinde had gone to the salon for a haircut when six men arrived on three motorcycles. They then entered the premises. One of the suspects pulled a country-made pistol and opened fire," he said.

"Another suspect immediately drew a pistol and fired three more rounds at Shinde. He suffered injuries to his cheek, neck, and hands," Bolkotgi said. "The assailants fired a total of four bullets. One bullet struck the leg of a customer, Amol Adhav. The suspects then pushed away people who had gathered and tried to escape. A patrolling police team chased and arrested Raut on the spot. Thombre was arrested later," he added.

Police investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack and to trace the remaining suspects.
