Pune: Woman murdered, colleague dies on railway tracks

In a tragic incident that has shocked Pune, a 23-year-old woman was found dead in a Sangamwadi flat on Sunday morning, while the body of her 26-year-old male colleague was discovered on railway tracks at Talegaon Dabhade late Saturday night.

Double Tragedy Unfolds

The two victims worked as lab technicians at a prominent city hospital. The woman lived with her family, and her father serves as a police constable in Lonikand. Her colleague originally hailed from Beed district, according to Senior Inspector Anjum Bagwan of Yerawada police station.

Police registered a murder case against the male colleague after the post-mortem report confirmed the woman was assaulted with a blunt and heavy object. The investigation is currently examining all possible angles in this complex case.

Sequence of Events

Preliminary investigation revealed that the two colleagues were good friends. The case took a dramatic turn when police learned that the woman's parents had recently fixed her marriage with another man.

On Saturday, the young woman told her family she was going to watch a movie with friends. When she failed to return home that night, her family grew concerned and began searching for her. They officially reported her missing on Sunday morning.

Police Investigation Reveals Tragic Truth

During their investigation, police checked the people she had been in contact with and discovered that her colleague's cell phone was active in the Talegaon Dabhade area. They immediately contacted local police, who found the man's body on the railway tracks.

Yerawada police then proceeded to the man's rented flat in Sangamwadi, where they made the grim discovery of the woman lying motionless. She was rushed to a hospital, but doctors declared her dead upon arrival.

Police contacted the male colleague's family members, who confirmed they were already on their way to Talegaon Dabhade after receiving a call from authorities about the tragic discovery.

Senior Inspector Bagwan added, "Our suspicions are that something went wrong between the two at the flat, he beat her to death and left. We suspect he committed suicide thereafter."

The case continues to develop as police work to piece together the exact sequence of events that led to this heartbreaking double tragedy in Pune.
