Rajkot Horror: Bedridden Wife's Cancer Exploited by Husband to Rape Daughter for 4 Years

What began as a routine missing persons investigation in Upleta town of Rajkot district has uncovered a deeply disturbing case of predatory abuse that has shocked the community. A 45-year-old physically challenged man stands accused of repeatedly raping his minor daughter for four long years, exploiting the family's vulnerable situation where his wife remains bed-ridden due to advanced cancer.

The Disturbing Revelation

On Saturday, the Rajkot Rural police arrested the accused, an electrician by profession, after his 19-year-old daughter revealed her continuous sexual exploitation following her escape from the family home. Shockingly, the man had taken advantage of his wife's last-stage cancer diagnosis to facilitate his heinous crimes against their own child.

Ironically, the accused himself had filed a missing person report approximately three days earlier with the Upleta police when the family couldn't locate the young woman. This report would ultimately lead to the exposure of his own criminal activities.

Multiple Victims Emerge

The investigation has taken an even more horrifying turn as police discovered the accused may have targeted additional family members. Authorities are now investigating allegations that the man also raped his 17-year-old niece and his sister-in-law (brother's wife), suggesting a pattern of predatory behavior within the family circle.

The Survivor's Harrowing Ordeal

When police officers traced the missing girl, she flatly refused to return to her family home. Suspicious of her intense fear and distress, authorities brought in professional counsellors to assist. During these therapeutic sessions, the survivor finally broke her silence, detailing a harrowing ordeal that began when she was just 15 years old.

Talking to media, Vijaysingh Gurjar, superintendent of police (SP) for Rajkot Rural, revealed the accused's calculated modus operandi. The man reportedly waited until midnight to enter his daughter's room, intentionally increasing the television volume to drown out her cries and protests.

The accused used to force her to watch pornographic content and raped her repeatedly, Gurjar stated, adding, We recovered physical evidence from the scene, including gels and protection used during the exploitation.

Family Circumstances Exploited

The investigation revealed how the accused systematically used the family's dire circumstances to facilitate his crimes. The victim's mother is currently battling stage 4 breast cancer and remains completely bedridden, unable to protect her daughter from the abuse happening within their own home.

As the only child in the family, the victim was forced to drop out of school after primary education to manage all household responsibilities and serve as a full-time caregiver for her ailing mother. This isolation and overwhelming responsibility left her particularly vulnerable to exploitation with nowhere to turn for help.

The Desperate Escape

Isolated and trapped in an unbearable situation, the young woman finally fled the house out of pure desperation. She wandered the nearby area for an entire day before being found by authorities who would eventually uncover the truth about her suffering.

During police interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to his crimes, chillingly stating that while he initially felt guilt about his actions, the abuse eventually became a routine part of his life.

Expanding Investigation

The horror appears to extend beyond the immediate household. Police have found evidence suggesting the man targeted other women family members, with the accused himself admitting to raping both his teenage niece and his sister-in-law.

We are currently counselling the minor niece and are in the process of registering additional offences against the accused, confirmed Gurjar, indicating the investigation continues to uncover more victims.

Legal Action and Medical Care

The accused, who walks with a noticeable limp, has been charged under relevant sections of rape and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The victim has been sent for comprehensive medical examination as part of the evidence collection process.

This case highlights the extreme vulnerability of families dealing with serious medical conditions and how predators can exploit such situations to commit horrific crimes against those who should be most protected within the family structure.
