Security was significantly increased at Delhi's iconic Red Fort on Saturday after a bomb threat was received, but authorities have since declared the warning a hoax following a thorough search of the premises.
Threat Call and Police Response
According to sources, the threat call was made to the Mumbai Police control room. The caller claimed that the historic monument in Delhi would be blown up. Mumbai Police immediately relayed the information to the Delhi Police control room, which in turn alerted the district police.
Upon receiving the alert, Delhi Police tightened security in and around the Red Fort. A comprehensive search operation was launched, covering the monument itself and its surrounding areas.
Search Results and Investigation
After an extensive search, no suspicious objects were found. Consequently, the threat was officially declared a hoax by the authorities. Efforts are now underway to identify the caller and determine the motive behind the false alarm. The investigation is being conducted by Delhi Police.
