In a significant breakthrough, Buxar police have apprehended Nikhil Yadav, the main suspect in the brutal murder of Arjun Yadav, who served as the district labour cell president for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The political leader was shot dead near the Chausa power plant area under Mufassil police station jurisdiction on May 26.
Dramatic Arrest Following Tip-off
Addressing media representatives during a press conference on Friday, Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya revealed crucial details about the operation. According to the SP, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by SDPO Gaurav Pandey had been constituted to probe the high-profile murder case.
"While six accused had been arrested earlier in the investigation, Nikhil and his associate Vicky Upadhyay remained absconding," Arya stated. "Acting on specific intelligence that Nikhil had returned to Buxar for medical treatment, our SIT team successfully apprehended him from ITI Road."

During intensive interrogation, Nikhil confessed to his involvement in the crime and provided critical information about the weapons used in the murder. He disclosed that the firearms had been concealed at Vicky Upadhyay's residence in Sukarwalia village, which falls under the Itadhi police station area.
Following this revelation, police conducted a raid that yielded a substantial cache of arms and ammunition, including:
