Rocky Gang Kingpin Gurvinder Singh Arrested in Sriganganagar with Illegal Arms

In a significant crackdown on organized crime, Gurvinder Singh, the alleged kingpin of the notorious Rocky Gang in Punjab, was arrested last night by the Sriganganagar police. The 42-year-old resident of Fazilka, who reportedly took over the gang's command after the death of Jaswinder Singh Rocky in 2016, was apprehended following a tip-off along a link road off the Abohar route.

Weapons Recovered and Additional Arrest

During the arrest, authorities seized an illegal .32 bore pistol, two magazines, and a total of 14 cartridges from Gurvinder Singh's possession. In a follow-up operation today, his associate, Gurjant Singh alias 'Janta', was also arrested. From Gurjant, police recovered a pistol, one magazine, and six cartridges, which were allegedly supplied by Gurvinder himself.

The police have registered a case under the Arms Act and confirmed that Gurvinder Singh is the prime accused in a Fazilka shooting incident, prompting his flight to Sriganganagar. He faces 18 criminal cases in Punjab, including a shooting at JK Restaurant in Jalandhar in December 2024.
