Rohtak Police Apprehends Alleged Mastermind in Property Dealer Murder Case After Intense Encounter
In a significant development, Rohtak police on Tuesday successfully arrested the alleged mastermind behind the murder of property dealer Satyawan. The arrest followed a dramatic encounter in which the prime accused, Pradeep Dagar, sustained bullet injuries to both legs, while his associate, Sombir, was shot in one leg. Both individuals were promptly admitted to the trauma centre of Rohtak PGI for medical treatment and are currently under police custody.
Encounter Details and Police Response
According to police reports, the encounter unfolded when teams from CIA-2 attempted to intercept the accused near Kheri Sadh village. This action was based on specific intelligence inputs indicating that the suspects were planning another criminal incident. As the police surrounded the area, the accused allegedly opened fire at the police party. In retaliatory firing, Pradeep Dagar, a resident of Jharoda village in Delhi, was injured in both legs, while Sombir, a resident of Madina village in Rohtak district, sustained an injury in one leg. Police officials estimated that approximately 10 to 12 rounds were fired from both sides during the confrontation.
Background of the Murder Case
CIA-2 in-charge Satish Kadyan confirmed that Pradeep, also known as Monu Dagar, is the main accused in the Satyawan murder case. Both accused were apprehended after being injured and are now being intensively questioned to establish all links related to the crime. The case dates back to the murder of Satyawan, a resident of Khedi Sadh village. On February 20, his Brezza car was discovered abandoned near Kharawad village, bearing multiple bullet marks, shattered glass panes, and blood stains both inside and outside the vehicle. Police recovered more than 20 empty cartridges from the scene, suggesting indiscriminate firing. However, Satyawan's body was not found at the location initially.
Four days later, Satyawan's body was recovered from the JLN canal. Earlier, a gangster named Sunder Kala had allegedly claimed responsibility for the murder through a social media post, adding a layer of complexity to the investigation.
Previous Arrests and Ongoing Investigation
So far, the police have arrested a total of four accused in connection with this case. Two suspects, Manjeet alias Mafia and Manish, were arrested on February 24, which led to the recovery of the body from the canal. Subsequently, Sushil and Ajay, both residents of Khedi Sadh, were also arrested for their alleged roles in the conspiracy. The recent arrest of Pradeep Dagar marks a crucial breakthrough, as authorities continue to delve deeper into the motives and connections behind this heinous crime.
The police are now focusing on gathering further evidence and statements to build a strong case against all involved parties, ensuring justice is served for the victim and his family.
