Samastipur Teen Found Hanging; Family Accuses Neighbors of Murder Over Alleged Affair
A tragic incident has shaken the community in Samastipur, Bihar, where a 17-year-old boy was discovered hanging in his home. The event occurred on Sunday at Jitwarpur Hasanpur village under the Mufassil police station area, sparking a murder allegation from the grieving family.
Family Files Complaint Against Neighbors
On Monday, the family of the deceased lodged a formal complaint with the police, accusing their neighbors of murdering the teenager. The accusation stems from an alleged affair the boy had with a minor girl from the neighboring household. Police have swiftly registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.
The deceased has been identified as Satish Kumar, also known as Jassi, the son of Saraswati Chandra Paswan. According to his elder brother, Saurabh Kumar Suman, Satish had been in communication with the minor girl from the neighborhood. This connection led to a violent confrontation approximately three months ago.
History of Conflict and Compromise
Around three months prior to the incident, the girl’s brother and father, accompanied by others, allegedly visited Satish’s home and physically assaulted him. Following this altercation, a compromise was mediated by local residents. Both Satish and the girl were instructed to cease all contact with each other.
However, the situation did not de-escalate as hoped. The girl reportedly continued to call Satish and pressured him to maintain communication. When Satish’s family objected to this ongoing contact, they were allegedly threatened with severe consequences, heightening tensions between the two families.
Alleged Forced Entry and Assault
The family’s complaint details a harrowing account of the events leading to Satish’s death. They claim that Satish was alone at home, with his younger sister on the terrace, when the girl’s brother, father, and other family members forcibly entered their house.
Once inside, the intruders allegedly beat Satish and then hanged him with a noose. When his sister came downstairs and witnessed the assault, she screamed for help. Tragically, she was also beaten up during the incident, adding to the family’s trauma.
Police Investigation and Community Context
Sadar ASP Sanjay Kumar Pandey provided insights into the case, noting that the two families lived merely 25 metres apart and were acquainted with each other. The proximity and familiarity between the households have complicated the investigation.
"The boy and the girl studied in the same school, which led to their closeness," ASP Pandey stated. He emphasized that the police are taking appropriate action based on the complaint filed by the deceased’s family, ensuring a meticulous examination of all evidence and statements.
The police are currently gathering testimonies, examining the crime scene, and reviewing any previous incidents between the families to build a comprehensive case. The community remains in shock as authorities work to uncover the truth behind this devastating event.
