A tragic road accident in Jamshedpur claimed the life of a 38-year-old Supreme Court advocate on Thursday morning. The victim, identified as Shashi Bhushan, a resident of Subhash Colony, was standing by the roadside in the Mango area when a speeding car rammed into him.

Incident Details

Eyewitnesses reported that the car dragged the advocate approximately 50 feet before coming to a halt. Pedestrians and morning walkers immediately rushed to the scene, rescued the victim, and apprehended the driver. However, in the ensuing chaos, the driver managed to escape.

Police Response

Ulidih police arrived at the location and rushed the injured advocate to MGM Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The car owner, a 36-year-old resident of Sakchi, has been apprehended and is being questioned, according to Olidih police station in-charge Md Shariq Ali.

Family's Statement

The deceased's elder brother, Shashi Shekhar, stated that Bhushan lived in Delhi and had come to Jamshedpur on Thursday morning to attend a case at the local court. After reaching home, he took a scooter and left for the market. Shortly after, the family received a phone call from the police informing them of the accident.

Investigation Underway

Police have confirmed that questioning of the suspect is ongoing, and further details will be shared later. The incident has sent shockwaves through the legal community, as Bhushan was a respected advocate practicing in the Supreme Court.
