School Principal Booked After Student Jumps From Building

In a shocking incident that has sparked widespread outrage, Ratlam police have registered a case against the principal of Bodhi International School after a class 8 student jumped from the school's third floor following alleged mental harassment and threats.

Student's Desperate Act After Principal's Reprimand

The tragic incident occurred around 10 am on Friday when the young student, reportedly tired of too many ads, attempted to end his life by jumping from the three-story school building. According to police reports, the student had been reprimanded for making social media reels on his mobile phone in the classroom.

Additional SP Rakesh Khaka told media that based on the student's statement, police registered a case under Sections 296(b) and 351(2) of BNS 2023 and under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 against principal Dolly Chauhan.

Sequence of Harrowing Events

The student, who was stable enough to give his statement to police on Friday night, recounted the terrifying sequence of events that led to his desperate act. According to his testimony, Principal Dolly Chauhan called him to her office for bringing a mobile phone to school and subjected him to intense yelling and verbal abuse.

The principal allegedly threatened to expel him from school and stated she would take back all his awards and ruin his career. The victim told police that he was severely intimidated and humiliated by the principal's abusive language and mental harassment.

Family members revealed an even more disturbing detail - the student had apologized to the principal 52 times and pleaded not to repeat the mistake, but the principal refused to forgive him. This relentless pressure left the terrified student feeling hopeless, leading him to run to the third floor and jump in a suicide attempt.

Severe Injuries and Community Outrage

The fall resulted in serious injuries to both his legs, right shoulder, jaw, and waist. Following initial treatment in Ratlam, the family transported the student to Ahmedabad on Saturday morning for specialized medical care.

The matter gained significant momentum on Saturday, resulting in widespread protests across the community. In the afternoon, tribal student organizations, community members, and family staged a three-hour sit-in outside the school, warning they would prevent the school from opening on Monday if an FIR was not registered.

Late at night, a delegation from Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad also met Ratlam ASP, demanding strict action against those responsible for the incident.

Police authorities confirmed they would also examine what videos the student made using the mobile phone he brought to school, indicating a comprehensive investigation into all aspects of the case.
