Navi Mumbai: A 27-year-old security guard, Ayush Nikalje, who worked in Pune, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing to death his 24-year-old wife and his 55-year-old mother-in-law at his home in Nerul on June 14.
Motive Behind the Murders
Nikalje told police that he suspected his wife's fidelity and that his mother-in-law often taunted him. These suspicions and taunts led to the violent incident.
Sequence of Events
After committing the murders, Nikalje remained at home and called his father in Pune. The police were alerted only after the father arrived at the scene. Nikalje used to visit his Nerul home once a fortnight, where his wife, their four-year-old son, and his mother-in-law lived.
