Sena-Nihang Face-Off Averted in Ludhiana After Protest

Protest Outside Police Commissioner's Office

Shiv Sena, Punjab, chairman Rajiv Tandon led a protest march from Chaura Bazaar to the Police Commissioner's office in Ludhiana on Tuesday. The demonstration was held to condemn the alleged attack on their leader that occurred on Ferozepur Road the previous day. Police initially barred the activists from entering the office but later arranged a meeting with Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Harpal Singh.

Face-Off Brews as Nihangs Gather

As the Shiv Sena leaders exited the police commissionerate after meeting officials, they encountered a group of Nihangs waiting outside. Both sides immediately began raising slogans and exchanging abuses, leading to a tense standoff. The situation escalated rapidly, but police personnel intervened promptly and separated the two groups, preventing a physical clash.

Police File FIR, One Arrested

Following the previous day's attack, the police registered an FIR against four individuals. One accused, identified as Danish Kapoor, has been arrested. The search continues for the main accused, Taranjot, and two others. Shiv Sena leaders alleged that the Nihangs have been openly threatening them and demanded strict action. Meanwhile, the Nihangs accused the Shiv Sena of making provocative statements against Sikhs and Nihangs, calling for action against them as well.
