Dumka: Seven individuals, comprising five young adults and two juveniles, have been remanded to judicial custody in connection with the gang-rape of a 13-year-old girl in Pakur district, police confirmed on Sunday.
Incident Details
The crime took place on May 16 at approximately 8:30 pm. The survivor's family lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the local police station on Sunday afternoon under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Following the complaint, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to expedite the probe.
Swift Arrests
Pakur Superintendent of Police Anudeep Singh stated in a press release, "All seven accomplices involved in the crime were apprehended within four hours of the FIR being registered on Sunday afternoon." However, authorities refrained from disclosing specific details regarding the sequence of events or the nature of the crime.
