Shivamogga Police Shoot Rowdy-Sheeter in Leg After Attack on Cops
In a dramatic turn of events on Sunday morning, Shivamogga police were forced to open fire on a rowdy-sheeter after he attacked officers during a mahajar. The accused sustained a bullet wound to his leg and was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred around 6:30 AM when a team of police officers, led by a sub-inspector, took the accused to the double road behind Subbaiah Medical College to conduct a mahajar. The accused, identified as a history-sheeter with multiple criminal cases, suddenly attacked the police personnel with a sharp weapon, injuring two officers. In self-defense, the police fired a single shot, hitting the accused in his left leg.
Police Response and Investigation
Senior police officials, including the Deputy Superintendent of Police, rushed to the spot. The injured accused and the two police officers were immediately shifted to the nearby Subbaiah Medical College Hospital. The accused is reported to be out of danger, while the officers sustained minor injuries. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the attack.
