Siddipet Police Crack Major Dacoity Case, Arrest Nine Including Retired Army Personnel

In a significant breakthrough, the Siddipet district police have successfully cracked a violent dacoity case that occurred in Burugupalli, arresting nine individuals, including a retired Army personnel. The arrests, made on Thursday, came just five days after the incident, with police recovering stolen property valued at approximately ₹20 lakh.

Details of the Dacoity and Arrests

According to Siddipet Commissioner of Police Rashmi Perumal, the crime took place on April 4 when unidentified persons forcibly entered the residence of a local doctor. The perpetrators tied up the inmates using ropes and towels, issuing death threats before making off with valuable items. The stolen property included gold chains, earrings, ₹1 lakh in cash, and two mobile phones.

Police investigation, leveraging CCTV footage and fingerprint analysis, led to the swift identification and apprehension of the accused. Commissioner Perumal emphasized that some of those arrested are repeat offenders with extensive criminal histories, highlighting the gravity of the case.

Mastermind and Conspiracy Unveiled

Investigation revealed that the prime conspirator was Srikanth, a retired Army personnel currently employed as a security guard at a fuel station. Srikanth meticulously planned the robbery in collaboration with his associates, Sham and Chandrasekhar.

"While searching for professional criminals, Srikanth encountered Ganesh (30), Premchand (21), and Pavan (23) near a court. These three individuals had prior criminal records in Mulugu, Ramagundam, and Bhadrachalam. Srikanth successfully convinced them to join the criminal plan," stated Commissioner Perumal during a press briefing.

Execution of the Crime and Disposal of Stolen Goods

On the day of the offence, Ganesh, Premchand, and Pavan conducted a thorough recce of the victim's house after consuming liquor. They later entered the premises armed with knives, wearing masks and gloves to conceal their identities, while other accomplices maintained watch outside.

Following the robbery, Prakash and Vinay were implicated in the disposal of the stolen property. Notably, Ganesh has been involved in 13 prior criminal cases, and Pavan has 10 previous cases, underscoring their habitual offender status.

Police Response and Recovery Efforts

The Siddipet police have been commended for their prompt and efficient response, which led to the recovery of the stolen items worth ₹20 lakh. This case highlights the effectiveness of modern investigative techniques, such as CCTV surveillance and forensic analysis, in combating organized crime.
