Sirohi Police Seize Gold, Silver Worth Rs 4 Crore From Bus

Palanpur: In a major operation, Sirohi police seized gold and silver jewellery valued at approximately Rs 4 crore from a private bus traveling from Jodhpur to Pune. The seizure took place at the Maval checkpoint under RIICO Police Station, Abu Road.

Details of the Seizure

During the search, police recovered large quantities of gold and silver ornaments concealed in three separate bags carried by three passengers. The haul included approximately 2.8 kg of gold and 800 g of silver, all allegedly transported without valid bills or supporting documents.

Arrests Made

Police arrested Ramesh Kumar (53), Gajendra Singh (32), both residents of Sirohi, and Chandlu Lal (50), a resident of Ahmedabad. The checking is part of a drive against drug trafficking, hawala transactions, and other illegal activities.

Preliminary investigation suggests possible involvement in illegal bullion transportation and hawala-linked financial activity. Further investigation is underway to trace the source and intended destination of the seized jewellery.
