Hisar: The Sirsa police have arrested the main accused within hours of the kidnapping of a 12-year-old boy and a demand for a ransom of Rs 70 lakh. Three other suspects have been identified, and raids are ongoing to apprehend them.
Details of the Incident
DSP Rajesh Kumar stated that the complaint was filed by Rajesh Kumar, a resident of the Inderpuri locality who runs a bookshop at Suratgarhia Chowk. According to the complaint, Saurabh, a resident of Chhatargarh Patti, had been employed at the shop for the past three years and was responsible for regularly dropping the complainant's son at his tuition center.
As per the complaint, three masked youths intercepted Saurabh and the 12-year-old boy while they were on their way to a tuition center in Sirsa's C-Block area. The assailants forced them into a car and blindfolded them. Later, the accused demanded a ransom of Rs 70 lakh for the boy's release through a WhatsApp call.
Investigation and Arrest
During the investigation, the police discovered that Saurabh himself was part of the conspiracy. Officials said he allegedly pretended to lose consciousness to mislead the child into believing that he too had been abducted. Based on key inputs, the JJ Colony police outpost team arrested Saurabh, who is currently being questioned.
A case has been registered under charges of kidnapping, extortion, and other relevant sections. The accused will be produced before the court and sent to judicial custody.
