Six Arrested in Mirzapur for Staging Kidnapping to Frame Cops

Six individuals, including a woman YouTuber, were arrested in Mirzapur on Sunday for allegedly hatching a conspiracy to implicate some policemen in a false case of kidnapping and extortion. The arrests were made after a thorough investigation that involved scientific evidence collection.

Details of the Arrest

Mirzapur ASP Operations Rajkumar Meena stated that a joint team from Adlahat police station and the Special Operations Group apprehended the six suspects on Sunday. The accused have been identified as Sarita Singh Patel, Amardeep, Vijay Kumar Singh, Subhash, Ankita, and Sunita.

The Staged Incident

Sarita, a YouTuber, had created a sensation on May 6 after filing a complaint with Adlahat police. She alleged that she was kidnapped and dumped by the roadside. According to her claim, passersby found her with her hands and legs tied and her clothes doused in petrol. Based on her complaint, police registered a kidnapping case and launched an investigation.

As the investigation progressed and evidence was gathered, police discovered that Sarita and her accomplices had staged the entire kidnapping. Amardeep confessed to the police that Sarita was upset with the Chunar Police for jailing some accused in a case. He added that she frequently pressured police to act unlawfully.

The Conspiracy

After failing to get her way, Sarita conspired with the five others to frame policemen in a false kidnapping and extortion case, Amardeep revealed. According to the plan, Amardeep dropped Sarita by motorcycle at the spot in Rajgarh where she was later rescued. He helped tie her hands and feet and sprinkled petrol on her clothes to make the incident appear serious. The aim was to register a case against the targeted policemen and get them booked on serious charges, ASP Meena said.

Charges Filed

The accused have been booked on multiple charges, including kidnapping, attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy, criminal intimidation, harboring an offender, and extortion. The police continue to investigate the matter.

This case highlights the misuse of legal provisions to target law enforcement officials. The police have urged the public to refrain from such actions and emphasized that strict action will be taken against those who attempt to undermine the justice system.
