Six Armed Robbers Loot Rs 25 Lakh Jewellery Shop in Siwan, Bihar
In a shocking daylight robbery, six armed criminals targeted a jewellery shop in the Basantpur market of Siwan district, Bihar, on Monday, making off with gold and silver ornaments valued at around Rs 25 lakh. The incident has sent ripples of fear through the local business community and prompted a swift police response.
Details of the Brazen Heist
The robbery unfolded around 3 PM when the accused, arriving on two motorcycles, stormed into the jewellery shop located under the Basantpur police station area. Armed and aggressive, they immediately threatened shopkeeper Arvind Soni and his staff at gunpoint, creating a scene of terror.
The loot included a significant haul of ornaments, some of which belonged to customers who had entrusted them to the shop for repairs or safekeeping. In addition to the jewellery, the robbers also seized cash from the premises before making a quick escape on their motorcycles, leaving the victims shaken and the community alarmed.
Police Investigation Underway
Siwan Superintendent of Police Puran Kumar Jha confirmed that authorities are actively investigating the case. "CCTV footage from the area is being meticulously examined to identify the robbers and trace their movements," stated SP Jha. He added that police teams have launched raids at suspected hideouts in an effort to apprehend the culprits and recover the stolen goods.
