Son, Friends Held for Father's Murder Over Rs 2 Lakh in Amroha

Bijnor: In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old man and his two accomplices, both aged 18, were arrested for the alleged murder of his 48-year-old father following a dispute over Rs 2 lakh in Gajasthal village under Naugawan Sadat police station limits of Amroha district, police said on Friday.

Details of the Incident

SHO Sunil Kumar stated that the accused, identified as Ayan, along with his friends Deepanshu Kumar (18) and Deepak Kumar (18), were arrested after confessing to the murder of Rais Ahmed, a 48-year-old tent businessman, on Tuesday. Ahmed had recently leased a mango orchard and was staying there to guard the property.

Motive Behind the Crime

Police revealed that the dispute originated from a disagreement over Rs 2 lakh that Ahmed had entrusted to his wife for safekeeping. When he later demanded the money back, family members objected, fearing that it would be squandered due to his alcoholism. This issue reportedly led to frequent arguments at home.

According to police, Ayan eventually conspired with his friends to eliminate his father. Deepak allegedly procured a country-made pistol, and the trio went to the orchard around 3 am on Tuesday. They shot Ahmed in the head while he was asleep.

Discovery and Arrest

Ahmed was found critically injured by his wife the following morning and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Suspicion fell on Ayan after he failed to attend his father's funeral. During interrogation, he allegedly confessed to the murder, leading to the arrest of all three accused.

The case highlights the tragic consequences of familial disputes over money and substance abuse. Further investigation is underway.
