Rourkela: A 20-year-old youth allegedly killed his father (47) and critically injured his mother (42) following a domestic dispute at Kadamdihi village under Koida police station limits in Sundargarh district late on Monday night.

The accused, identified as Sana Munda, is currently on the run, and police have launched a manhunt to apprehend him and ascertain the motive behind the attack. The deceased has been identified as Pandu Munda, while the injured woman is Raibari Munda.
According to police sources, an argument broke out between Sana and Raibari late at night. Sana allegedly assaulted Raibari, prompting Pandu to intervene. In a fit of rage, Sana allegedly struck his father with a wooden stick, killing him on the spot. Raibari sustained serious injuries, including a fractured hand and heavy bleeding.
Police Response
Neighbors alerted the police, following which Koida police reached the spot. Raibari was rushed to the community health centre in Koida, where she is undergoing treatment. Police have sent Pandu’s body for postmortem examination and registered a case against Sana, who remains absconding.
