Speech-Impaired Farmer Killed in Yamunanagar Ambush

A 50-year-old speech-impaired farmer was shot dead by assailants during his morning walk in Bal Chhapar village, Yamunanagar, on Monday. The victim, identified as Satnam Singh, was targeted around 5:30 am near a field.

Attack Details

Witnesses reported that gunmen lying in wait opened indiscriminate fire on Satnam Singh before fleeing the scene. By the time villagers reached the spot after hearing gunshots, the attackers had escaped.

Police Investigation

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rajat Gulia stated that based on initial findings, a long-standing personal rivalry appears to be the motive. Satnam Singh lived alone; his wife and son reside abroad. He was involved in a protracted dispute with several individuals.

Forensic experts and police have collected evidence from the site and are reviewing local CCTV footage to identify the attackers. A murder case has been registered at Chhappar police station, and the body has been moved to a hospital for autopsy.
