The deceased has been identified as Sonu Abhishek Tanti, a second-year electrical student from Tangargaon village under Talsara police station limits.

According to police reports, the body was found lying in a pool of blood on Saturday morning. Preliminary investigations suggest that Tanti may have jumped from the rooftop of the four-storeyed hostel building on Friday night. A purported suicide note was recovered from his belongings, stating that no one was responsible for his death.

Friends revealed that Tanti had refused dinner on Friday night, asking them to proceed without him. His body was discovered the following morning.
