A 17-year-old student was discovered dead in her hostel room in the Chitragupta Nagar police station area of Patna, Bihar, on Tuesday. The incident has prompted a thorough investigation by local authorities.

According to police officials, the victim hailed from Samastipur district. Her body was found hanging inside her room under circumstances that have been deemed suspicious. Police Statement
ASP Sadar Abhinav Kumar provided insights into the case, stating: "Police received a call from this girls' hostel regarding the body of a girl, who had been preparing for a competitive examination while residing here, found hanging. We are investigating all possible angles, including suicide. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has collected all available evidence. Further details can only be shared after the FSL report and post-mortem results are received."
The ASP added, "We have seized her mobile phone and several other items. At this stage, we are unable to draw any definitive conclusions. Prima facie, there is no evidence of forced entry into the room. We will be able to provide more information following the FSL report."
