Details of the Alleged Crime

The alleged offence occurred in June 2025 near Tavakkal Plaza in the Khanpur Plot area of Limbayat. The complainant, Mohammad Iqbal Arif Siddiqi, who works as a welder, reported the incident to Limbayat police station. Siddiqi stated that he purchased a second-hand SUV a few months ago for Rs 7 lakh.

According to the police report, Yusuf Pathan, a resident of Govind Nagar in Limbayat, brandished a knife and threatened to kill Siddiqi. Pathan then took away the vehicle along with its documents. When Siddiqi later demanded the return of his SUV, Pathan threatened him again and refused to return the vehicle.

They knew each other since childhood. Pathan lived in the village during his younger days at his maternal uncle's residence.

Siddiqi told police that he helped Pathan buy a house in Surat city. He also arranged temporary accommodation for Pathan while furniture work was ongoing in the new home. Later, Siddiqi asked Pathan to find another place to live. A few days after this request, Pathan met Siddiqi and demanded that he hand over the SUV.

Siddiqi refused the demand. Pathan then took out a knife and threatened to kill him. A few days later, Pathan took the registration certificate of the SUV as well.
