Surat Sack Murder Unveils Disturbing Family Conspiracy
In a deeply disturbing revelation from Surat, the brutal murder of a 57-year-old woman, whose body was discovered stuffed inside a plastic sack and discarded in the Kosad area, has been allegedly orchestrated by a twisted family conspiracy. Police investigations have shockingly implicated the victim's own son, her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law's father in the heinous crime.
Illicit Relationships Spark Deadly Plot
According to officials from the Detection of Crime Branch (DCB), the murder stemmed from a web of illicit relationships and domestic conflicts. The deceased, identified as Hamida Khatun, a widow who headed her family after her husband's death a few years ago, lived with her two sons, Wasim and Parvez, and daughter-in-law Shabana at Kosad Awas.
Investigators revealed that frequent quarrels erupted after Hamida discovered an alleged illicit relationship between her younger son Parvez and Shabana, who is married to her elder son Wasim. Hamida often reprimanded the pair for their extravagant spending, fueling resentment.
Conspiracy Hatched Across State Lines
Upset by Hamida's objections, Shabana complained to her father, Firoz Alam, who resides in Bihar. On Monday, Firoz called Parvez and proposed a plan to kill Hamida, citing her harassment of his daughter. Parvez, who was also angered by his mother's constant scolding, agreed to the murder plot.
In a further shocking twist, police uncovered that Hamida herself was allegedly in a relationship with Firoz, adding another layer of complexity to the case.
Execution of the Murder
On Tuesday morning, when both of Hamida's sons had left for work, Firoz and Hamida went into a room together. After some time, Firoz strangled her with a cloth. Shabana then informed Parvez, who returned home. The trio proceeded to stuff Hamida's body into a plastic sack.
Around 12:30 PM, Firoz allegedly carried the sack on his shoulder and dumped it approximately 500 meters from the house. He then headed to the railway station to board a train back to Bihar.
Arrests and Investigation Breakthrough
Police have arrested Parvez, Shabana, and Firoz Alam in connection with the murder. DCB officials alerted the Bihar Special Task Force (STF), which apprehended Firoz at a railway station before he could escape.
A vital clue emerged during the investigation: a thread found in Hamida's house was identical to the one used to tie the plastic sack and the body. This evidence helped investigators confirm that the murder was committed by someone within the family.
Background of the Relationships
Shabana married Wasim three years ago, and the couple initially lived in Surat with the family. After the marriage, Shabana stayed in Bihar for a few months, during which Parvez visited and the two allegedly began their relationship. The affair continued even after she returned to Surat.
Investigators also found that Hamida and Firoz allegedly developed their relationship during one of Hamida's visits to her native place. Hamida was a widow, and Firoz's wife was reportedly unwell.
DCP (crime) Bhavesh Rojiya stated, "Frequent fights broke out after Hamida came to know about the relationship between Parvez and Shabana. She also often reprimanded them for their extravagant spending. Upset with this, Shabana complained about Hamida's behaviour to her father." The case highlights a tragic breakdown of family bonds, leading to an unthinkable crime in Surat.
