On Friday, Panchkula police impounded a luxury SUV and issued a traffic challan of Rs 33,000 to a builder for multiple violations in Sector 9. The vehicle owner was found misusing a siren and red-blue beacon to exert influence on roads.

Traffic team stops vehicle after hearing siren

A team of traffic cops heard the loud sound of a siren from an Innova car passing through the area. The team stopped the vehicle for checking and discovered that it had an illegal red-blue beacon light. The driver failed to furnish any vehicle documents. During questioning, he identified himself as a builder.

Multiple pending challans revealed

Police records were checked and it was found that nearly 20 traffic challans were already pending against him in Chandigarh and Panchkula for previous traffic violations. The police issued a Rs 33,000 traffic challan and impounded the vehicle. The SUV has been parked at the Sector 5 police station for further legal proceedings.
