Young IT Professional Found Dead at TCS Campus
In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through Pune's IT community, a 24-year-old software engineer employed with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was found dead on the company premises in the early hours of Tuesday. The Pimpri Chinchwad police have identified the deceased as Sujal Vinod Oswal, a resident of Wanawadi.

Officials stated that the incident occurred at the TCS campus located in Phase 3 of the Hinjewadi IT Park. Oswal was discovered lifeless in a washroom on the site sometime between 12.30 am and 12.45 am on January 6, 2026. Upon receiving the information, a team from the Hinjewadi police station immediately rushed to the location and initiated a formal investigation.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Vishal Gaikwad addressed the media, confirming the grim details. "The deceased, Sujal Vinod Oswal, was 24 and worked as an IT engineer for TCS. Our initial probe strongly points towards this being a case of suicide," Gaikwad stated.
Betting Losses Emerge as Probable Motive
The police investigation has taken a significant turn with preliminary findings suggesting a distressing motive. Authorities indicated that losses incurred in betting appear to be the primary reason behind the young professional taking such an extreme step.
"The investigation suggests that he had incurred losses in betting. Before he took the extreme step, he sent a message to his relatives," DCP Gaikwad elaborated.
