A tragic road accident in Bihar's Bhojpur district claimed the life of a young teacher on Saturday morning. The incident occurred under the Sikarhatta police station area, leaving a family devastated.
Fatal Collision on State Highway
Roshan Jahan, a 35-year-old government school teacher, was traveling in an autorickshaw with her twin babies and mother. They were on their way to Piro for a polio vaccination appointment. At around 9:30 AM, near the Sikraul fuel station on the Bihiya-Bihta state highway, disaster struck.
A concrete mixer suddenly detached from a speeding pickup van. It slammed directly into the autorickshaw with tremendous force. The impact caused the three-wheeler to turn turtle, trapping the occupants inside.
Teacher Succumbs to Injuries
Roshan Jahan sustained grievous injuries in the collision. She was rushed to the Piro Community Health Center but could not be saved. The teacher succumbed to her injuries at the healthcare facility.
Her mother, Nasima Khatoon, also suffered serious injuries in the accident. Authorities referred her to Ara Sadar Hospital for advanced medical treatment. Her condition remains critical as doctors work to stabilize her.
Miraculous Escape for Newborn Twins
In a heartbreaking twist of fate, Roshan Jahan's twin babies escaped completely unharmed. The infant boy and girl survived the violent crash without any physical injuries. They had been born just recently after their parents waited fourteen long years for children.
Roshan Jahan was posted as a teacher at Sikanderpur near Danapur in Patna. She had been visiting her parents' home in Sikarhatta Khurd after giving birth to the twins. The young mother's life was cut short during what should have been a routine medical visit for her children.
Police Investigation Underway
Sanoj Kumar, the Sikarhatta Station House Officer, confirmed the details of the accident. "The police are actively searching for both the pickup van driver and the autorickshaw driver," Kumar stated. "Both fled from the accident spot immediately after the collision."
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the concrete mixer separate from the speeding pickup van before crashing into the autorickshaw. Police have seized the concrete mixer involved in the fatal accident as evidence. The investigation continues to determine exact responsibility for the tragic event.
The teacher was a resident of Azimabad in Bhojpur district. Her untimely death has shocked the local community, particularly her colleagues and students at the government school where she taught. The incident highlights continuing road safety concerns on Bihar's highways.
