On July 4, 2026, a 16-year-old boy was allegedly abducted and assaulted by four individuals in Palsap village, Dharashiv district, over a dispute concerning advance payment for sugarcane harvesting work. The Dhoki police station official confirmed the incident on Sunday, stating that the victim was intercepted and attacked.

The accused were identified as labour contractor Swapnil Parekar and his associates Dilip Govind Kale, Machhindra Govind Kale, and Archanabai Dilip Kale, all residents of Bori Savargaon in Beed district. According to the police official, they intercepted the victim, Sachin Sunil Kale, and demanded that his family either return the advance taken for sugarcane harvesting or report for work. When the victim could not comply, they assaulted him and threatened to keep him hostage until the advance amount was repaid.
The victim's mother, Kaushalya Sunil Kale (35), filed a complaint with the Dhoki police station on July 24, leading to the registration of a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The official noted that the victim is a minor, which adds gravity to the offenses.
Legal Action Under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita
The case was registered under sections related to abduction, voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation, and other relevant offenses. The police have booked all four accused and are conducting further investigations. The official stated that the accused remain at large, and efforts are underway to apprehend them.
