Tragic Accident Claims Teen's Life on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
In a heartbreaking incident, an 18-year-old youth lost his life after being run over by his elder brother's truck on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near the district border in Nuh on Monday. The victim, identified as Mursaleem, was a resident of Raniyala village in Firozpur Jhirka.
Details of the Fatal Incident
Mursaleem had gone to hand over a set of keys to his elder brother Sajid, a driver who was en route to Madhya Pradesh after Eid. Sajid had allegedly forgotten some keys at home and asked Mursaleem to bring them to the expressway.
Eyewitnesses reported that Mursaleem reached near the divider close to Baghola and waited along the roadside railings for the truck to arrive. However, as the truck approached him, it began performing stunts and suddenly went out of control, veering towards the divider and crushing Mursaleem to death on the spot.
Immediate Aftermath and Police Response
Locals present at the scene said that Sajid was initially unaware that Mursaleem had come under the vehicle and realized it only after people raised an alarm. A police team reached the spot soon after receiving information and sent the body for autopsy.
An FIR was registered under sections 106 (death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving) against Sajid at the Ferozepur Jhirka Sadar police station. Police added that the exact sequence of events is yet to be determined.
Ongoing Investigation
We are examining CCTV footage from nearby locations to ascertain the cause of the accident and verify the claims made by eyewitnesses, an officer said. The investigation aims to clarify the circumstances leading to this tragic loss of life.
