According to police reports, the two boys, both residents of the area whose parents work as labourers, had gone to the river around 1:30 PM with four other friends, all under the age of 15. In a fateful decision, the group decided to bathe in the river. The two victims entered the water but soon began to struggle and drown, leading to a frantic situation.

Emergency Response and Search Operation

The Timarpur police station received a PCR call around 2 PM, alerting them to the emergency. Shortly after, at 2:07 PM, the Delhi Fire Services was notified and mobilized. A coordinated effort was swiftly launched, with police, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) personnel, and fire service members rushing to the spot.

With the assistance of boat club divers, a search operation was initiated in the river. During the operation, one boy was pulled from the water and immediately transported to the Trauma Centre in Civil Lines. Tragically, he was declared brought dead upon arrival. The search for the other missing boy continues as authorities work tirelessly to locate him.
