A tragic incident occurred in Uttar Pradesh's Chandauli district on Friday, where a Class 10 student was allegedly stabbed to death by a 16-year-old classmate during an extra class at school, police reported.
Victim Identified
The deceased, identified as Lavkush (16), a resident of Pratappur village, had arrived at the school around 7 am to attend an extra class when the attack unfolded on the campus.
Details of the Incident
According to police, the accused, also a 16-year-old student, allegedly stabbed Lavkush in the chest and upper abdomen following a dispute. During questioning, the accused claimed that Lavkush had been verbally abusing him for the past two to three days.
The teachers managed to apprehend the accused and handed him over to the police, as reported by PTI.
Medical Response
Lavkush sustained severe injuries to his chest and upper abdomen from the stabbing. He was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Legal Action
Circle Officer (Sadar) Devendra Kumar stated that the body has been sent for a postmortem examination. A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The accused has been sent to a juvenile home, and further investigation is ongoing, police added.
