Major Fire in Southeast Delhi Residential Building, Ten Occupants Safely Rescued

A significant fire incident occurred on Tuesday evening in a residential building located in the upscale New Friends Colony area of southeast Delhi. The blaze, which erupted among household items on the first floor, led to a dramatic rescue operation that successfully saved ten individuals, including three women and a young child.

Swift Emergency Response and Rescue Operation

The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received an urgent distress call at approximately 5:14 PM from the Taimoor Nagar locality, reporting both the fire and people trapped inside the building. Responding with immediate urgency, authorities dispatched a total of six fire tenders to the scene, supported by a team of around 35 highly trained fire personnel.

Through coordinated efforts, the firefighters managed to bring the raging flames under control by 5:45 PM, demonstrating remarkable efficiency in containing the situation. The rescue team, working in tandem with local police officers from the New Friends Colony police station, executed a precise operation to evacuate all ten occupants who were stranded on the first floor of the four-storey structure.

Details of the Rescued Family Members

The individuals rescued from the perilous situation have been officially identified as members of the same family. The list includes Suraj Singh (45), Ashok (42), Ram Naresh (40), Kishan Lal (38), Ram Kishan (35), Sachin (44), Tamanna (24), Priyansha (24), Sneha (22), and the youngest, Ryansh, who is just five years old.

According to preliminary investigations by police officials, the fire is believed to have originated from a short circuit within a bathroom area on the first floor. The situation was exacerbated by the presence of combustible garbage materials stored near the electrical fault point, which rapidly ignited and allowed the flames to spread throughout the entire floor.

Escape to Safety and Ongoing Investigation

As the fire intensified, the family members made a quick decision to move to the building's terrace to escape the smoke and heat. Firefighters and police personnel then conducted a safe rescue operation, bringing them down from the terraces of adjacent buildings using specialized equipment and techniques.

A formal police investigation has been initiated to conclusively determine the exact cause of the fire. Authorities are examining all potential factors, including electrical wiring conditions and safety compliance within the residential premises. This incident highlights the critical importance of fire safety measures and proper electrical maintenance in urban residential buildings.
