Security forces bust hideout in Kathua, recover grenades

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district busted a terrorist hideout on Wednesday, recovering two hand grenades from the site. The operation was conducted in the upper reaches of Billawar, based on information provided by an arrested overground worker, Haji Latief, officials said.

Arrested overground worker leads to discovery

Haji Latief, a resident of Rabagh, was arrested on July 2 and is facing charges of facilitating the infiltration of over a dozen terrorists from across the border over several years. He is currently being jointly interrogated by police and other security agencies. During questioning, Latief revealed that he had remained in constant touch with terror handlers based across the border, leading to the discovery of the hideout.

Suspicious person picked up from border village

In a separate development, border security forces on Wednesday picked up a suspicious person from the border village of Bobiya in the Hiranagar sector. The individual, who identified himself as Prem (45), was handed over to the police for further questioning, officials said.
