Four Texas Teenagers Face Serious Charges in Brutal Kidnapping and Torture Case
Four 17-year-old Texas teenagers have been arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon after allegedly orchestrating a violent attack against a former high school classmate. The shocking incident, which involved kidnapping, physical torture, and death threats, stemmed from a dispute related to one of the suspects' girlfriends.
Suspects Identified and Charges Detailed
According to arrest affidavits obtained by KEYE from the Travis County Sheriff's Office, the four suspects are identified as Jose Rojas-Alvarado, Oscar Armando Santiago-Martinez, Angel Lemus-Perez, and Carlos Roberto Oliva-Villeda. All four face charges of aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon, a serious felony that carries severe penalties.
Angel Lemus-Perez faces an additional charge of engaging in organized criminal activity, indicating authorities believe the attack was premeditated and coordinated. If convicted on these charges, the teenagers could potentially face prison sentences ranging from five to 99 years.
Detailed Account of the Violent Attack
The victim, a former student at Del Valle High School, was reportedly lured into a car on February 19 under false pretenses. He was then driven to a nearby farm where the fourth suspect was waiting inside a garage. Investigators allege that once at the location, the suspects immediately held a gun to the victim's head while binding his hands, feet, and mouth with duct tape.
The violence escalated dramatically from that point. The teenagers allegedly forced the victim to consume alcohol before subjecting him to a sustained beating with various weapons including aluminum bats, a walking cane, and a belt. Throughout the brutal assault, the suspects reportedly threatened to kill the victim and harm his family members if he ever reported the incident to law enforcement.
Evidence and Aftermath of the Assault
Despite the threats, the victim immediately reported the attack to authorities after being released. Police confirmed that his injuries were consistent with his detailed account, noting extensive bruising across his back, chest, and legs from the repeated beatings.
During the investigation, some of the suspects admitted to planning the attack for several days prior to its execution. Authorities also discovered that one of the teenagers allegedly recorded the entire violent ordeal on a mobile phone, providing potential digital evidence for the prosecution.
Community Reaction and School District Response
The violent incident has sent shockwaves through the Del Valle community, leaving students and residents deeply disturbed. J'Kaideon Mitchell, a current Del Valle student, expressed the widespread disbelief, telling KEYE, "I thought it was insane, especially at our school. It's just crazy how strong that person would have to be to report it and just stay alive, honestly."
Mitchell added, "Everyone's pretty spooked... Everyone's been like, 'Oh my God, I can't believe this is happening.'" The Del Valle Independent School District confirmed that the suspects are no longer enrolled at the school and acknowledged awareness of the off-campus incident, though they emphasized it did not occur on school property.
This case highlights the serious consequences of teen violence and the legal ramifications of organized criminal activity among minors. The Travis County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the full scope of the incident as the judicial process moves forward.
