Surat Police Apprehend Thai National in Magdalla Village Raid
In a significant enforcement action, the Zone-4 Local Crime Branch (LCB) police in Surat have arrested a Thai woman residing in Magdalla village for possession of foreign liquor and banned e-cigarettes. The operation led to the seizure of items valued at Rs 18,800, with a formal case registered at the Umra police station.
Tip-Off Leads to Raid and Discovery
Acting on a specific tip-off, police conducted a raid on a rented room located on the first floor of a building in Magdalla village. During the operation, authorities found five women staying in the premises. A thorough search revealed a bottle of foreign liquor concealed in a plastic bag on a bed.
Upon questioning, the women disclosed that the liquor bottle belonged to Phavinee Khumnuan Kongsaenkum, a 28-year-old woman hailing from Kalasin Province in Thailand. This information prompted further investigation into the matter.
Seizure of Banned E-Cigarettes and Legal Action
During the subsequent search of the premises, police recovered five banned e-cigarettes, which were estimated to be worth Rs 17,500. The combined value of the seized foreign liquor and e-cigarettes totaled Rs 18,800.
The police have seized both the liquor and e-cigarettes as evidence, and legal proceedings have been formally initiated against the Thai national. This case highlights the ongoing efforts by Surat police to curb the possession and distribution of prohibited items in the region.
The arrest underscores the vigilance of law enforcement agencies in responding to tip-offs and taking swift action against violations. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine if there are any further connections or individuals involved in this incident.
