A brazen theft took place near the night food street at Panjab University in Chandigarh on Friday night when thieves shattered the windscreen of a parked Maruti Brezza and made off with cash, an iPhone, and personal belongings.

Incident Details

The victim, Vivek Saini, a resident of Saharanpur, had parked his vehicle in the area. Upon returning, he discovered the windscreen broken and several items missing. Stolen items included approximately Rs 30,000 in cash, two bags, and important documents.

Police Response

A PCR call was made to emergency number 112, prompting officers from Sector-11 police station to arrive at the scene. They recorded the victim's statement, inspected the vehicle and surrounding area, and initiated an investigation.

A case has been registered against unidentified persons. Authorities are currently scanning CCTV footage from nearby cameras to identify the suspects and gather leads.
