Bokaro: Three men were arrested on Friday for allegedly robbing an elderly couple at their residence-cum-shop in Giridih. The accused were identified as Guddu Kumar Laheri of Koderma, and Binod Kumar Sao and Nandkishore Ravidas of Giridih.
Police recovered Rs 11,100, a motorcycle used in the crime and two mobile phones from them. Khori Mahua SDPO Rajendra Prasad said all three confessed during interrogation.
Details of the Robbery
The robbery took place on the night of May 12 at the residence of 75-year-old rice trader Banshi Sao near Jamua Chowk, according to the SDPO. The accused allegedly looted Rs 50,000 and a gold chain.
The elderly couple was left traumatized by the incident. The swift action by the police led to the arrest of the suspects within days. The investigation is ongoing to determine if the accused were involved in any other similar crimes in the area.
